"A Survivor's Guide to Benefits:
Taking Care of Our Own" is a guide to the Federal
benefits and entitlements available to families whose loved
one dies while serving on active duty with the armed forces.
The Department of Defense publishes updates to this guide
regularly to keep up with changes to laws and benefit
amounts.

Another
AL Department of Texas convention is finished (held in Beaumont this
year). Here are items of interest for Post 593:
Irene Lineback, Post
Historian, received 3rd place for the Post 593 Yearbook entry!
The Color Guard took 1st place in Color Guard competition--this means they
are now the 2004-2005 Dept of TX Color Guard and will compete at the
National Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii in August, 2005 (expect more info
soon on fundraisers!!!).
Lastly, the District officers were installed at the Convention and Post
593 is the Home Post of the new 20th District Commander, Daryl Waldrop,
and the 20th District Historian, Irene Lineback!

the District 20 Oratorical Contest held in January 2004. Linda placed 4th and
represented our post.

Post.
